 To be able to determine correlation and fit a line to the plotted data

 Positive Correlation can be determined if Y tends to increase as X increases

 Negative Correlation can be determined if Y tends to decrease as X increases

 No Correlation can be determined if the points show no linear pattern

 First Sketch a line that appears to bisect the correlation

 Then choose two points on the line

 Find and equation of the line that passes through both the points 2 3

 If the points go up, it is positive correlation, if the points go down, it is negative correlation, if there is not specific pattern, it has no correlation.  When finding the best fitting line, draw a line bisecting the correlation and make a equation for the line.
