To be able to determine correlation and fit a line to the plotted data
Positive Correlation can be determined if Y tends to increase as X increases
Negative Correlation can be determined if Y tends to decrease as X increases
No Correlation can be determined if the points show no linear pattern
First Sketch a line that appears to bisect the correlation
Then choose two points on the line
Find and equation of the line that passes through both the points 2 3
If the points go up, it is positive correlation, if the points go down, it is negative correlation, if there is not specific pattern, it has no correlation. When finding the best fitting line, draw a line bisecting the correlation and make a equation for the line.
