Presentation transcript:

e-log is a very clever software written by Steffen Ritt from PSI It can do lots of things and can be used well. Will give you an example of use by NA61 1.replace ‘’20 categories x 18 types’ of MICE log = 360 possibilities – can’t search that. by a finite set of logbooks with only one type-category each -- can have different passwds

Run summary contains one entry per run with a fix pattern. basically the data base entry for this run and a link to the data quality path NB this could be improved

shift logbook contains one “shift summary” per shift ….

This shift summary contains entries automatically generated by run control (start and end of run, DAQ crashes, C&M alarms etc..) AND this is where shifters edit it in real time to make entries

run summaries and shift logbook are synchronized to the data taking the other logbooks are not. Anything with relevance to the data being taken is written in the shift log. possible MICE equivalent idem no but could be itemized with “tracker, PID” idem DAQ and trigger C&M MOM and CDM (MOM and Willie’s log) tracker PID detectors magnets and LiqH2 RF no more than 10.
