SOCIAL MEDIA BRANDING THROUGH TWITTER TIPS Bloggers  Know what you want..  Do you want to share information, ideas, content?  Will you coordinate with Pinterest? News Sources  Share information of interest  Celebrity updates  World events  Sharing local news  Will you link sites to news headlines?

TIPS  Match your Twitter “handle” to other social media account names  Make sure your profile has Key Words in it! People can find you easier!  When creating your business account give all the required and relevant information so it will assist in increasing awareness of your business.  Avoid using special characters or punctuations so your website is easier to find.  Customize your Twitter profile to assist in developing your social media brand  Engage … identify trending topics, follow businesses in your industry, retweet and respond to tweets.. Encourage people to start listening to you  Use hastags.. But just one or two! This increases the odds your content will be grouped with the appropriate content

TIPS  Alternate Tweet times  Enables you to find the optimum response time for your target audience  Be creative in content creation  When retweeting keep your TM in mind!  Use inline pictures to use “1,000” words vs. 140 characters!  CONSIDER VIDEO – VIDEO CAN INCREASE ENGAGEMENT BY 25%, It provides greater impact for building followers  “Rule of Thumb – have a clear call to action in each video then drive people to the relevant landing page on your site where whatever you are selling is available … you can incorporate YouTube!

FURTHER TIPS  Consistency – create tweets consistent with your brand’s tone, mission and vision  Be active  Automate Tweets  Possibly find and hire noted bloggers in your industry to run your account  Direct users to sites to assist even if you are unable - be helpful  Use Twitter stats  Tweet informative quotes that reflect your company, trending topics, etc.  Use Twitter’s tools to help increase your effectiveness … Twitter’s Small Business Planner App to assist in planning campaigns, monitor engagement to help create a competitive advantage  Check out Tweepi and Insightpool to help target who YOU should follow and WHO should follow you
