Legislative Changes Most of the changes reflect what is required by state law We had a fair process that included input from all levels. Our evaluation tool is in compliance with the state legislation. Our 2008 initial model was also aligned with the intent behind the state legislation
Legislative Changes Beginning : Evaluations Must Include Annual Year End Evaluation for Administrators. Student growth data by , 25%; , 40% %. Administrator’s training and proficiency in using the evaluation tool for teachers.
Legislative Changes Beginning : Evaluations Must Include Progress made by schools in meeting the school improvement plan Pupil Attendance Student, parent, and teacher feedback
Legislative Changes Beginning : Those rated ineffective or minimally effective would need an improvement plan If rated ineffective on 3 consecutive year end evaluation the administrator must be dismissed. If rated highly effective on 3 consecutive evaluations the administrator would only need to be evaluated every 2 years.
Legislative Changes Beginning : Established the Michigan Council for Educator Effectiveness (Formerly Named the Governor’s council). Recommendations will hopefully be coming from the council in the near future.

Most Significant Change - We have eliminated the use of the North Carolina rubric. We are now in better compliance with the 4 scale state rating system. -Rating scale, ineffective, minimally effective, effective and highly effective by September 19, This change was already implemented. -Rubric based on work by Kim Marshall in alignment with work by Charlotte Danielson and Bob Marzano

Administrative Tool Timeline Self Assessment- By September 30th. Meeting with Evaluator to discuss goals and data to be gathered by October 31st. Data Collection and Mid Year Visit to the school by evaluator between November 1st and March 30th. Administrator provides a brief summary on progress. By May 1st. School Profile should also be completed. Year End Evaluation Meeting by June 15th. This must be submitted to HR by this date.
