Agenda Welcome to Exploring Math and Science with WebQuests. Here’s what we are covering in this presentation: What is a webquest? What are some science and math tools that can be used in a webquest? Independent Practice & Follow Up Discussion Questions & Answers

Question for everyone… How many of you have created a webquest ?

Webquests…say what? A WebQuest is an inquiry-oriented activity in which most of the information that learners interact with comes from resources on the Internet. A good WebQuest puts the power of the web behind the topic you are teaching. It enables students to self-pace while realizing the value of research through a different, more dynamic approach to learning. What should be included on a WebQuest? What to incorporate in webquest? For creativity and innovation, the framework emphasizes Thinking Creatively and using Critical Thinking Skills (brainstorming techniques, creating new ideas, refining and evaluating ideas), Collaborating and Communicating with Others (communicating new ideas, being open to diverse perspectives, demonstrating orginality, viewing failure as part of the process) and Implementing Innovations (Acting on creative ideas and contributing to a field).
