Choosing solutions to complex social problems is difficult

In-kind support alone cannot steer the CR&LR’s course

We are poised to grow with a watertight plan

With youth as crew rather than passengers, we are stronger

We serve at the junction of citizenship, and livelihoods

We are located in a civic learning system & growing

Our school believes in our unique role within the school

We prepare youth for life long learning

We benefit youth, teachers and administration

Follow a strength based approach with youth as partners

A Youth Advisory Committee supports program development

Youth are active practitioners in service delivery

We engage youth and adults as partners and life long learners

We address challenges by tapping into youth assets

We engage the community by sharing youth perspectives

We bring the community to youth

We use a walking & learning with youth approach

Through our Youth Mapping Program we deliver workshops

The Job Skills agency helps us address employment needs

Collocation of staff from Job Skills, extends reach to youth.

This collocation model can work with other service providers

We have demonstrated transferability to other schools

There is existing interest from other schools in our program

We actualize the York Region District School Board Mission…

and the Communities of Character Charter – York Region
