Presentation transcript:

This map shows current real estate listings as red stars on a background colored by the percentage of the population that is under 18 - yellow denotes a low percentage, and orange denotes a higher percentage. Thematic Mapping Over the Internet

Often users want to constrain their selection to listings that fit geographic constraints, such as distance from a place of employment, or proximity to a school. This image shows all listings of “…houses within 3/4 of a mile of a specific hospital" (blue circle). The details of the first property in the constrained shown, but users can view the details of any house in the list simply by clicking on link in the MLS# column of the table. Spatial Geo-Query over the Internet

This image illustrates how multiple criteria can be used to select listings. In the example a geo- search is made to locate ”…houses that are within 3/4 of a mile of a specific hospital AND also within 1 mile of a specific park." Only the properties that satisfy both criteria (shown as the intersection of the blue circles) are selected and described in the results section at the bottom of the query window. Extending Spatial Geo-Query

Extending the Thematic Map This map shows the selected houses (green stars) on top of a Spot image. Real world features provide insight into local conditions... From… location, location, location to… data, data, data data, data, data Innovative GIS at select Services
