National Honor Society October 13, 2015

At the end of the meeting:  Attendance will be taken  Seniors: Go to the stage  Juniors: Go to the lobby  Service hours will be logged  First go through the attendance line  At the end of the line, your community service sheets will be checked off by the officer who is not taking attendance.  No hours are due today, but by the end of the semester all members must have 20 logged hours.

Attendance Policy and Demerit System  All monthly general meetings are mandatory  Dual enrollment/ OJT students have a revised policy  Demerit System:  1 demerit for each missed general meeting  2 demerits for event cancellation with fewer than 24 hours prior notice  5 demerits for academic dishonesty  5 demerits will result in expulsion from National Honor Society

Service Hours Policy  20 logged hours per semester  Completed at an SCPS approved location  Hours must be logged on an official SCPS service hour sheet  Found on the SCPS website or our website  No City of Sanford requirement  No monthly hour requirement  No NHS event requirement

Shirts  All members should have received a shirt through their first period teacher.  If you did not receive a shirt, speak to us at the end of the meeting.  No points are awarded for wearing your shirt on meeting days.  Incentive system in the works  Shirts must be worn at all NHS events.

City of Sanford Halloween Event  On Halloween night  5 p.m. to 9 p.m.  The sign-up form is on our website and our social media pages.

Sock Drive  Goal: Collect 500 pairs of socks before Winter Break  Socks for both adults and children are needed  Socks will go to Catholic Charities of Central Florida and Rescue Outreach Mission  Collection Locations  Counselor’s Corner at second lunch  Other drop-off locations TBA  Incentives TBA  Questions?
