The national broadband network (nbn™) is an Australian Government initiative designed to upgrade the existing fixed line phone and internet network infrastructure helping Australians transition to a digital future Several technologies will be available and differ by location/premises. Broadband Usage Guide Internet usage is the amount of data which is transferred between a computer or other device (e.g. smart phone, tablet) and the Internet over a specified period of time. Data usage will be accrued in bytes (B) where 1 KB = 1000 B, 1 MB = 1000 KB and 1 GB = 1000 MB and includes both uploads and downloads. nbn™ Broadband comes standard with a speed of 12/1 Mbps. Customers have the option to select a faster speed of 25/5Mbps or 100/40 Mbps for a low monthly fee subject to technology ^ ^ 12/1 Mbps and 25/5 Mbps speeds are deliverable over nbn™ Fibre and Fixed Wireless Infrastructure. 100/40 Mbps speeds are deliverable over fibre infrastructure only.
