Definition of Leader (ship) Varied definitions Leader: – “A person who influences a group of people towards the achievement of a goal”. – “One who is in charge or in command of others” – “ A person who leads a group, … an organization, etc. Leadership: – “A process of social influence in which a person can enlist the aid and support of others in the accomplishment of a common task”. Wikipedia – “Leadership is a process of social influence, which maximizes the efforts of others, towards the achievement of a goal”. Forbes – “…to guide people to cooperate efficiently and effectively as a team to inspire their loyalty and to empower them to make a meaningful contribution to the realization of objectives”.

Types of Leaders Thought Leaders: Attract followers and initiate change by the power of their ideas (Steve Jobs) Courageous Leaders: Pursue a vision in the face of considerable opposition and risks (Mandela)
