Cecily Von Ziegesar Born in Norwalk, Connecticut Born June 27, 1970 Attended Colby Collage Her childhood dream was to become a ballerina The series idea came about while von Ziegesar was working as an editor for 17th Street Productions, a book packager in New York City. She wrote the proposal and sent it in to the publishing house of Little, Brown.

Interesting Things About The Book An interesting fact about The It Girl is it made the New York bestsellers in it Is a book series that is aimed towards young adults, about sex, drugs,drama etc.

Setting/Conflict The main conflict of the story is that jenny is suppose to be trying to change her life but its hard for her being around so many cute boys. The setting of this story is Waverly Academy in New York.

Cause & Effect/Figurative Language A cause and effect example is when Jenny invited Easy over and got caught Personification-I saw monkeys drinking beer. Hyperbole- ill be your best friend forever and ever. Simile- The air smelled like freshly cut grass. Simile-I was as high as the air planes in the sky.

Plot Rising action-Jenifer Humphrey moved from Constance billiard to go to a boarding school called Waverly Academy. Climax-When she got there they had her marked as Mr. Jenifer, and she had to get new roommates Brett & Callie. Jenny decided to sneak a boy (Easy Walsh) into her dorm room and got caught by Mr. Paradee. Falling Action- Jenny got Callie to lie for her so she wouldn’t be expelled from school, because she already had two strikes and if you get three your out. Resolution- Callie and Brett continued to lie for Jenny but they were always expecting something in return.

Recommendation You should read the novel The It Girl because it is an amazing book about the life of a teenaged girl who goes through certain drama as she goes to boarding school. The dramas has to do with the life of sex, drugs etc. And teaches you the value of friendship.
