Davidic Covenant 1. Good Desires Restrained the initiative to build the temple and the choice of the person for the task must come from the Lord not from any man God will not be controlled, domesticated or put in anyone’s debt (cf. Rom. 11:34-35)

Greater Promises Foretold the Lord will establish the house (dynasty), kingdom and throne of David forever every Davidic king would be God’s “son”, His kingly representative over His people as son, he is disciplined by his father, but the Lord will never remove His love from him

6 For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. 7 There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, On the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness From then on and forevermore.
