I think that most people don’t know how influential and inspiring music can be. I know that within this course we have complained about men singing songs about creepy, sexual things (Robin Thicke, I’m looking at you) and even misogynist lyrics will pop up in songs quite often. My music taste is quite diverse and so I am making this powerpoint to show that this is actually a two way street, and that females have sung both empowering and quite creepy songs. These songs probably just never got as popular, and you can probably guess why that happened. I also am just including information about songs as the years have passed.

THE BOY/GIRL IS MINE MALE SONG These songs just have reverse titles! The years of release are also quite far apart, spanning almost a full 20 years. The song sung by 2 males is actually more pleasant and romantic in my opinion, although fighting over “owning” a human being is still a ridiculous thing. FEMALE SONG

These ones are either very obvious to you or very hidden, just depending on who you are and how you interpret things. Personally, I find it easier to know that the male song is about having sex with a girl – coincidence?

Man + Broken Heart Contrary to popular belief, men aren’t all players and they actually do fall in love. Fortunately, these men who fell in love were also celebrities and could write about their feelings to make big dough. We mostly all know about the present day ones so I’m going to share some from the old days
