Christian World View Year 8 Lesson 5 Blockbusters

What is the lesson about? Walt (We are learning to)) Explore personal motivations for joining a cause or carrying out an action. Wilf (What I'm looking for) An essay. Examples of the key beliefs of Christianity. Examples of ways people show that they are Christians. Examples of problems they might encounter. Use of the phrases on the writing frame.

Your Task You are going to work in small teams, (I have already chosen them), to: 1.hunt, 2.gather and 3.present information on how Christians try to carry on the traditions of Christianity by following the teachings of Jesus.

Your Task There will be 14 stations : Jonathan Edwards, Judy Simpson (Gladiator Nightshade), The World Wide Message Tribe, Charities, Jubilee 2000, Ian Fraser (retired Minister), Oscar Romero, Terry Waite, Geoffrey Howard, Tony Melendez, Helen Keller, Maria Gomez, Rev Desmond Tutu, Sister Frances Dominica

Your Task Each group will have a fact finding sheet with different people to investigate This will be sent to your groups’ computer. You have to organise your team to go and collect information from the stations, make notes and bring them back to the team.

Your Task You only have 20 min to collect as many facts as possible. Once you have collected your facts you have 5 min to go and trade information with other groups.

Your Task Add this extra info onto your computer and print off a copy for each member of your team With this information you all have to produce your own work entitled ‘What are the challenges to being a Christian today?’ using the facts you have discovered Use the phrases on the writing frame to gain maximum points.

Homework You have 2 weeks to complete this work. This will go towards your assessment this year.
