Name of Museum It took Howard Carter and his team ten years to clear out everything in King Tut’s tomb. King Tut’s tomb is the chamber where he was buried with all his riches. King Tut’s tomb was found in 1922 by Howard Carter. King Tut ruled from 1333 to 1323 B.C. King Tut was buried in the Valley of the Kings in Thebes. King Tut became king when he was nine years old and he died when he was eighteen years old. King Tut’s mummy was found with three other coffins. King Tut’s tomb proved that Ancient Egypt was an important and advanced civilization because of the art that was in his tomb. Introduction Back to Room 1

Name of Museum The Ancient Egyptians were an important and advanced civilization because of art in King Tut’s tomb. The Golden Shrine is a table like figure that once held a sculpture of King Tut but it was stolen by tomb robbers. The Golden Fan captures an image of King Tut hunting ostriches on his chariot, there used to be actual ostrich feathers from an ostrich attached to the fan those feathers were from an ostrich that King Tut hunted himself. The Golden Death Mask was what covered King Tut’s face and shoulders while he was in his coffin. It was made from blue glass, blue, red, white, and black stones, and the mask shows tut with a head cloth over his shoulders. On the forehead of the mask there is a figure of a vulture and a cobra on his forehead. He also has a fake beard on his chin. Therefor these three pieces of art prove that Ancient Egypt was a complex civilization. Body Paragraph Back to Room 2
