Research Questions  What are the key (pull and push) factors that encourage Chinese investor to invest in service sector in Namtha district?  What are the roles and positions of central government of Lao PDR toward Chinese investment in service sector?  What are the roles and positions of local government of Namtha district toward Chinese investment in sector sector?  What are the impacts of Chinese investment in service sector to political and socio-economic conditions of local Namtha residents?

Objective  To identify the key factors that influence/encourage Chinese investment in service sector in Namtha district.  To study the roles and positions of central and local Laos’ government to Chinese investment in service sector in Namtha district.  To study impact of Chinese investment in service sector to local people in Namtha district.
