UNIVERSITY OF CAPE TOWN Where we started: Implemented a new curriculum in 2005 Implemented a course & lecturer evaluation process in 2005 Items based on Senate’s Teaching and Learning Contract Paper-based Results administration a lengthy process, undermined formative evaluation Placed same evaluation on Vula in 2009 Results administration greatly improved Lecturers and teaching still evaluated by naïve evaluators Improvements in teaching practice not taken into account
