Using e-learning for facilitating internationalization in education Marie Olsen, RN, MSc, lecturer 1., Lisbeth Vinberg Engel, RN, MSc, lecturer 2 Therese Granström, RN, MSc, lecturer 1., Marie Elf, RN, PhD, senior lecturer 1

 The present project is a collaboration between University of Dalarna, Sweden and Metropolitan University College, Copenhagen, Denmark. Introduction EAIE

 Metropolitan University College has a long experience of exchange programs for internationalization.  Dalarna University has been successful adopting new technologies and strategies for E- learning.  Our challenge is to assure quality and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of teaching and learning online. Background EAIE

 ERASMUS exchange students will be able to have web-based lectures, presentations and seminars during their exchange periods. Aim for the project EAIE

EAIE

 During spring 2013 we have shared the Course "Intercultural Health Care and Welfare" Modules+in+english/Nursing Modules+in+english/Nursing  For our exchange students in both Denmark and Sweden through the program Adobe Connect.  The students have evaluated that they learn from sharing experiences across borders. Content EAIE

 The challenge has been to establish the techinal support which is quiet expensive  to inform and educate teachers  students to feel comfortable using the technical procedures Challenges EAIE

 “Excellent to be able to follow education online - feels very global!”  “Good to follow the PowerPoint slideshow and hear the teacher at the same time”  “Great also to be able to ask questions both written and orally” Students evaluation EAIE

 That universities across borders work together in planning intercultural courses for exchange students.  It means that universities with less international activity can benefit from universities with a higher activity level  The students can participate and enhance intercultural awareness and cross-cultural knowledge and skills even if they don´t attend the same university. Future perspectives EAIE
