Submitted Proposals COST Programme – “Building a European Innovation Information Cluster” – Proposer: Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya, Israel ICT Call 5 – “Data information spaces with epitaxial growth” – Co-ordinator ERCIM

COST Programme Does NOT fund research itself Supports networking activities such as meetings, conferences, short term scientific exchanges and outreach activities Invites proposals for Actions contributing to the scientific, technological, economic, cultural or societal development of Europe COST receives financial support from EU RTD FP - COST office administered by ESF

COST Programme Proposal “Building a European Innovation Information Cluster” Objectives: (1) establish a network of varied multidisciplinary and multi- sectoral stakeholders, that will share experience and best practice in research information provision using advanced e-communication tools; (2) articulate a strategic plan(s) enabling open research with open data providing increased open access to academic results based on interoperating legacy and newly developed CRIS using the EU Recommendation to member states, CERIF.

Proposal evaluation status “Building a European Innovation Information Cluster” Two-phase evaluation procedure First-phase proposal submitted 25 September 2009 Results expected 13 November If successful, full proposal submission deadline is 15 January 2010

ICT Programme Proposal “Data and Information Spaces by Epitaxial Growth” – DEG Originates from ERCIM DIS WG New approach to providing homogeneous access to heterogeneous data sources Open source DIS toolset to be developed CERIF to be used in the pilot environment as the “seed” schema for the “epitaxial” growth.
