PRODUCT DESIGN (3-D DESIGN) YR12 SUMMER TASK

 The Design Technology Department are delighted that you have opted to follow this exciting, challenging and stretching course and we are looking forward to welcoming you in September.  To prepare you for some of these challenges please read through the task carefully before selecting your chosen object and starting the task.  Good luck!

THE TASK  Present your findings on two A3 sheets.  Sheet 1: should shown a series of annotated drawings and sketches exploring the function and assembly of the product.  Sheet 2: should show a series of annotated drawings and sketches which explore improved ergonomic and aesthetic qualities of the product which should in turn improve the users experience of the function and usability. Take an everyday object and disassemble it; choose from a hole punch; a stapler; or a tape dispenser.

WHEN IT’S DUE Please bring this work to your first lesson when you will be expected to give a brief overview on the modifications you have proposed and why. Don’t worry – you’re all in the same situation!
