Vacation Postcard

Relative Location Location of a place compared to another place.

Region An area with at least one common physical or human feature such as climate, landforms, or history. 1. What part of the world is the place? (continent, part of the US, hemisphere?

Place The human and nonhuman features at a given location. 1. What is the weather/climate there like? 2. What does the land look like? (mountains, hills, lakes, flat, etc.) 3. What types of people live there? (Black, Hispanic, White, Native America, etc.)

Interactions How people affect their natural surrounding and how those natural surroundings affect them. 1.Was the place you visited a big city or a small town? 2.Are there any special building there? (dams, canals, skyscrapers, etc.) 2. Did you have to do anything special to deal with the weather? (jackets, etc)

Movement Explains how people, goods, and ideas travel from one place to another. 1. How did you get there? (car, train, or airplane) 2. How did you get around the place you visited? (train, subway, highways, etc.)
