I am thrilled to bring the 5 th annual production of Jeezy’s Juke Joint back to The Promontory in Chicago. What started out as a blog and personal research project about African- American burlesque entertainers past and present has turned into a yearly extravaganza full of amazing entertainers from all over the country. The Juke Joint not only aims to highlight diverse and talented performers of color, but to bring the sensual and sensational art of burlesque to new audiences and communities. ABOUT JEEZY’S JUKE JOINT “Jeez Loueez was a fun and lively MC!” Jeez Loueez, “The Powerhouse of the Midwest” and Miss Viva Las Vegas 2012, is proud to announce the 5 th annual Jeezy’s Juke Joint! The show that features the brightest brown-skinned burlesque stars from across the country will return to The Promontory March 11-12th, 2016 in Chicago! Since debuting in 2011, the yearly weekend has expanded with shows in St. Louis and Indianapolis. This jumping, jiving, foot-stomping revue pays homage to African-American burlesque and variety with a fabulous line-up of award-winning, entertainment. Ranging from classic burlesque to drag to comedy and everything in between, this popular show is sure to leave you on the edge of your seat. Hosted by Jeez Loueez and featuring established and up and coming performers from all over the country, each production of Jeezy’s Juke Joint is finely curated into a diverse and rich line- up full of glamour, storytelling, and thought-provoking pieces.
