Today: 10/19/2015 Supplementary materials Chapters 1-2 of To Kill A Mockingbird If you were absent last class, you will be presenting your TKAM Historical Research Slides today.

Reading “Quizzes”  We will not be having a final test on the novel, To Kill A Mockingbird.  We will be having intermediate “quizzes” that will count for 25 points of a 125 point major grade.  You are taking what would typically be one major test at the end of the book in smaller pieces as we read.

Left Sides to Consider:  Chapter summaries  Chapter “Storyboards”  Character drawings/descriptions  Character Chart/Map  Draw a map of Maycomb (best after Chapter 8)  Favorite Quotes/Explain why (Illustrate?)  Vocabulary  Take notes on predicted symbolism  Take notes during class discussions  Predict what you think will happen in the next chapter and why  Make connections to other stories you have read  Diagram sentences from the story  Research people/issues/topics mentioned in the story that you are unfamiliar with  Create a Facebook Page for one of the characters  Compare and contrast characters/families  Write down your observations  Create sentences using vocabulary from master list
