INTRODUCTION “ You can’t put a limit on anything, the more you dream, the further you get” ‘Small Steps 4 Life’ aims to encourage children and their families to engage in sporting activities and a healthy life style with the support of the 2012 London Olympics. ‘Small Steps 4 Life’ also promotes the Olympics as an influence for children to get into sports and a healthy life style. VALUES “ You can’t put a limit on anything, the more you dream, the further you get” There is more to the Olympics than the games themselves. The 2012 Olympics and Paralympics advertise values to encourage children to have a healthy life style. One of these values are friendship. From friends in the park to friendship between countries. Supporting and encouraging each other to perform at their best can really boost someone's courage, which is another value of the 2012 Olympics. EAT WELL “ You can’t put a limit on anything, the more you dream, the further you get” Eating healthily is very important towards your ‘Small Steps 4 Life’ project. Eating healthily can improve your body and mind. A good challenge for eating healthy could be just swapping your chocolate bar for a healthy snack or piece of fruit. For example if you swap a chocolate digestive for an apple you are cutting down on 22 calories! (information from food items database) Instead of a trip to a fast food restaurant, take your family on a nice healthy picnic. GET ACTIVE “ You can’t put a limit on anything, the more you dream, the further you get” Exercising doesn’t have to be a strenuous work out, it can be a kick about in the park to a day out swimming. Keeping active can help improve your lifestyle because it can keep your weight healthy and is good for your heart. My results show me that 75% of kids like to exercise with friends rather than alone. Only 30% of kids who took my survey take part in outdoor activities. Only 30% of kids who took my survey take part in outdoor activities. Simply going for a walk in the park could count as part of your exercise. Simply going for a walk in the park could count as part of your exercise. FEEL GOOD “ You can’t put a limit on anything, the more you dream, the further you get” When you are tired it can affect how you feel and can make things seem much more difficult than they actually are, so put down that games controller and get some rest! If you are feeling upset or down, always talk to a friend that you can trust. Feeling good is very important, 35% of people that took my survey said they thought feeling good was the most important. Laughter releases endorphins (good hormones) and laughter can make you much happier, so laugh a lot! INTRO VALUES EAT WELL EAT WELL GET ACTIVE GET ACTIVE FEELING GOOD FEELING GOOD
