Teacher Notes  The notes page you will need is on shelf A 4, along with extra chapters of the reading in case a students needs a loaner (all I have is a class set of textbooks)  For the reading, have a student read a paragraph and give them a tribe ticket (topmost drawer next to my desk). Have them pick a volunteer of the opposite gender. They may not go twice in the same day unless you decide to let them.  Walk them through the notes and show them the pictures at the end.  The statue on the left is Julius Caesar, the right is George Washington  Continue with one of the videos at the end of the PP.

PACE  Make sure you have the list of students on your PACE clipboard that is labeled “Waldroff” at the top (it should be right under the one that says “Lewis”)  Watch the CNN Student news  At the end, ask students question to review what they just saw OR have them write a small paragraph to recap (I typically do the questions and reserve the paragraph for when there is poor participation)  Have students work on the “Fall of the Roman Empire” paper on shelf B 3.
