Age of Exploration Project Created by: Mrs. Foley 7 th Grade S.S.

Assignment: Requirements: Tell the story from someone’s perspective. Include accurate information about the explorer’s most famous voyage. Use relevant pictures in every slide to help tell the story. An accurate Bibliography using at least 4 sources. You will be creating a PowerPoint about one Explorer from the Age of Exploration.

Cortes the Conquistador I am Hernando Cortes, the great Spanish Conquistador.

“There was no gold in Cuba so I got together men and supplies and set off to explore the Yucatan.”

“This is the route that we decide to take. The entire voyage took a total of 26 years!”

We came to many villages and befriended the natives.

The natives complained of their Aztec rulers and the payments of tributes. I decided that this was my opportunity to conquer the region.

“With the help of the opposing native tribe, we took over the great Aztec capital Tenochtitlan.”

My native land, Spain, made me a national hero and gave me great riches. To this day I am thought of as a great hero.

However, the natives did not think of me as a hero. They called me a butcher of their people.
