Grammar comment 15-2 Prefixing verbs of motion по - denotes ‘setting out’ при - denotes ‘arrival’ or ‘return Adding these prefixes to verbs of motion such as идти, ехать, бежать, and нести (which are all imperfective) perfectivizes them.

Grammar comment 15-3 We must choose which preposition to use when expressing ‘from’ according to animacy. ИЗ/С + genitive case- means ‘from (something)’ ОТ + genitive case - means ‘from (someone)’ just as: В/НА + accusative- means ‘to (something)’ К+ dative means ‘to (someone)’
