MY LIFE AS AN ENGINEER Ahmed M Alshehhi

LIFE GOALS  Graduate from Pennsylvania state university and seek a master’s degree in chemical engineering.  Make my own company in years  Make people around me happy

WHAT IS NEXT…  In the next few years I want to be working for ADNOC as a chemical engineer. As I want to live in small town with my family.

THE WAY PEOPLE SEE ME  I care too much about the way others see me because the way people see me determine the way they treat me.  I would like people to treat me in a good way that’s why I keep a good manner and respect everyone

MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE  I would love to see poor nation fearless and strong where they don’t suffer from poverty or lack of clean water  I would like to see the peace in every country especially those in war  Those problems are bigger than what an individual can handle so countries must take a position

FUTURE JOB  In the future I’m going to be an engineer who works in oil company because there is a high demand for engineers in my country.  From my point of view I see that working in the field is much more enjoyable and it will help me to be an expert

MAJOR  In order to achieve my life ambition I’ll major in chemical engineering and I’ll take intensive leadership courses to get minor degree in Leadership. By taking those two degrees I’ll be able to make my own company.

CHEMICAL ENGINEERING  Engineering in general deals with problem solving.  Chemical engineering deals with turning raw materials into useful, products and in my case it is all about turning crude oil into more usable forms like gasoline.

SPECIALIZATION AREA  Among all the specialization area. I want to specialize in oil productio, since oil and petrol are the most valuable resources in my country. Fuels (gasoline, natural gas) Petro-Chemicals (chemicals obtained from petroleum or natural gas) Agricultural Chemicals (fertilizers, pesticides) Industrial Chemicals (acids, alkalis, organics, salts) Pharmaceuticals and Drugs Consumer Products (paints, soaps, household cleaners, etc.) Food Additives/Products Advanced Materials (ceramics, electronic materials, composites, etc.)

DEGREE REQUIREMENTS  The B.S.Ch.E. requires successful completion of 134 credit hours. The Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering requires credits in General Math and Science courses and Chemical Engineering Core and focus area courses. Electives may be chosen from theTo graduate in Chemical Engineering, a student must earn at least a  C grade or better in each of the following courses in themajor: CHE210,CHE220,CHE320,CHE330,CHE350,CHE410, CH E 430

ACADEMIC ADVISING IN PSU  The Engineering Advising Center serves as the academic advising resource for students in pre-major status (ENGR) at University Park. Once students have been admitted to a College of Engineering major, they will be assigned to a faculty adviser in that major.

MINOR  I’m considering Engineering Leadership Development minor  It introduces me to leadership roles and practices in organizations and the development and application of innovation skills to product design, marketing, and leadership strategy

INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE  As an international student I’m living my international experience right. However if the company that I’ll work for offered me a training abroad I will never turn it down

CLUBS  Although, Pennsylvania state University has over 800 clubs I’m not enrolled in any club yet but in the future I might consider joining ESU.
