Presentation transcript:

See the Year 1 Overview for a detailed breakdown of the maths curriculum. The standard has been raised with the new curriculum, e.g. fractions now include quarters in Year One. We will be counting daily, forwards and backwards from any number up to 100. We will start up to 30 initially. Use number lines to help your child with addition and subtraction. Count the jumps. Use number squares for adding and subtracting onto larger numbers. Move down/up for 10s, with diagonals for 9 & 11. We use cubes, number beads and Numicon to represent number. It is useful if you can practise counting in 2s, 5s and 10s at home.
