An Invaluable Reference The Holistic Physicians Database contains information on Diseases: causes, lab tests and treatments Prescription medications (drugs) Dietary supplements: vitamins, herbs, etc. Professional products Clinical research, references and articles.
Organization The database is divided into main sections and subsections: Diseases Lab Tests Drugs Supplements Products Protocols Library
Therapies The therapies section lists the dietary supplements for each disease along with the number of published research studies on that disease. One click brings you to the supplement You can also see the studies for a disease and supplement.
Research This page shows research studies for Vitamin E and Cataracts listed by date. Notice the check mark next to the fifth study, which means you can download this study for free. Click on the triangle to see the study.
Studies The study page shows the abstract and notes. Click on “Get Study” to open the PubMed page in your web browser. Notice the upper right corner shows the last three pages visited.
Sections The section pages has lists of what’s in each section. They are listed by systems and alphabetically.
Products On the main page, products are listed by manufacturer and category. You can also search by the product name.
Ingredients The products page shows ingredients, along with the form.
Protocols Protocols link diseases to products. Protocols are not specific to a particular disease. The products are displayed this way in order to comply with FDA regulations.
Therapies Related protocols are shown on the bottom of the Therapies page. Clicking on the triangle next to “Vision Support” brings you to the description. Then click on the “Products” subsection tab.
Protocols The Protocol Products page lists products that relate to that protocol. In this case, we see products for vision support from several manufacturers. Also on the list are separate supplements from the list of therapies.
Products and Ingredients The database shows the products that have a particular ingredient. This is of particular importance with novel or cutting-edge ingredients. For instance, there are only a few supplements that contain Coleus.
