Lent 2016: So it begins…

Caritas and DPA Together, Caritas and DPA, support 26 villages in Cambodia.

Where in Cambodia? We are helping indigenous Cambodians in the provinces of Mondulkiri and Ratanakiri.

Themes In upcoming lessons you will find out more about the following issues: The impacts of changing climate; Access to food and water; Human rights in Cambodia; The struggle for land rights for indigenous Cambodians. The importance of culture;

The amazing culture of Cambodia We will glimpse a whole new world.

Food security We will find that food and water are not always easy to access.

The impacts of climate change We will see that the effects of climate change are very real for local farmers.

Human rights Many Cambodians work hard to enjoy their basic rights like food, education and security.

Land rights A big challenge for indigenous Cambodians is protecting their land.

Laudato Si’ We will reflect on Pope Francis’ words from last year’s Laudato Si’ as we respond to the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor.

Jubilee of Mercy As this year is the Jubilee of Mercy we will also reflect on God’s mercy and being merciful to others.
