Oral presentation

Generic talk outline Title /author/ affiliation (1 slide) Outline (1 slide) Background Motivation and problem statements (2-3 slides) Related works ( 2-3 slides) Methods (3-4 slides) Results (4-6 slides) Future work (1 slide) Oral presentation

Think about the background and colors of your slides (it is advisable to go for a simple and a clear design). Use the same color and the same design for all slides. Remember to have a balance of text, tables, graphs, and pictures. Be sure to have slide numbers on all slides. Oral presentation

Listeners have one chance to hear your talk and cannot re-read when they get confused. A good presentation is well structured. Question to ask yourself What is the aim of my speech? Whom I am speeking to? What are the benefits to the audience? Are these people the decision makers? What do they know about the subject? What sort of questions will they ask me? What are the answers? How long you will speak? Oral presentation

The main purpose of any speech is to have the audience understand and remember a certain amount of information. Sucess of any presentation comes with preparation and practice. Any presentation requires: Speaking clearly and confidentialy. Convicing the audience your subject is important. Presenting your information in a logical and interesting way. Practice before another student and give one another constructive feedback about your body language, speaking, style and timing. Oral presentation

Don’t just present to your audience, but rather guide them through your presentation. Introduce yourself Assalamu alikum, My name is …..and I am a student at princess Nora Bint AbduRahmane University. Give the title and introduce your project (give a good idea about your subject) I plan to speak about… Today I’m going to talk about… Why are you going to speak about your project? I have chosen to speak about … because… Oral presentation

Link your ideas. Be clear and use examples. Conclusion –A brief reminder of what you tried to show in your speech. –How you tried to solve your problem? –Short conclusion. –Thanks the audience for listening. How to deal with questions? - make sure you understand the question. -Take enough time in answering. Oral presentation

How to deal with questions? -Before you answer, take a moment to reflect on the question. By not rushing to give an answer, you show a degree of respect for the questioner, and you give yourself time to be sure you are answering the question that actually was asked. -If you are unsure of the question, try to restate it, (and then check you have it correct), or don’t forget you can ask for a clarification of the meaning. Wait for the questioner to finish asking the question before you begin your answer! Oral presentation

Thank you for your attention
