Using Technology in the Adapted Health and Physical Education Classroom By: Will Brown

Goal  To offer equipment and software that will enhance an adapted student’s experience and maximize student learning in physical education

Why is Adapted Physical Education Important  Physical Education helps all students improve on the quality of their life  Successful Adapted PE can lead to increased confidence and self esteem in students.  The increased self-esteem can lead to success in other curriculum areas

Adapted PE Software  Purpose: To provide students with behavioral disabilities, with technology to help improve their PE experience and overall health.  It also provides student with behavioral disabilities a way of learning how to properly communicate with others  This CD-ROM can be used with students of all abilities as a way of learning necessary life skills.

Conclusion  The items listed in this presentation provide a clear opportunity to offer students with disabilities a quality and well rounded physical education experience  Students without special needs could benefit from most if not all of the items listed.  Finally, the items listed were durable and if purchased would benefit the school for years to come!
