HERITAGE TREE DIAMETER OF 24 INCHES OR GREATER MEASURED FOUR AND ONE-HALF FEET ABOVE NATURAL GRADE

HERITAGE TREE SPECIES TEXAS ASH BALD CYPRESS AMERICAN ELM CEDAR ELM TEXAS MADRONE BIGTOOTH MAPLE ALL OAKS PECAN ARIZONA WALNUT EASTERN BLACK WALNUT

PROTECTED TREE 19 INCHES IN DIAMETER MEASURED FOUR AND ONE HALF FEET ABOVE NATURAL GRADE

ORDINANCE CONTROLS REMOVAL DEFINED AS: UPROOTING * SEVERING THE MAIN TRUNK * DAMAGE THE ROOT SYSTEM * EXCESSIVE PRUNING

APPROVAL OF APPLICATIONS FOR REMOVAL OF PROTECTED OR HERITAGE TREES CAN BE GRANTED BY ADMINISTRATIVE APPROVAL

HOWEVER CITY STAFF CAN SEND THE APPLICATION TO THE LAND USE COMMISSION OR CITY COUNCIL FOR APPROVAL

HEITAGE TREES WITH ONE STEM 30 INCHES IN DIAMETER VARIANCE FROM PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT

REQUIREMENTS DEAD DISEASED DANGEROUS HAZARD AND

REMOVAL IS NOT BASED ON A CONDITION CAUSED BY THE METHOD CHOSEN BY APPLICANT TO DEVELOP THE PROPERTY, UNLESS HE REMOVAL OF THE TREE WILL RESULT IN A DESIGN THAT WILL ALLOW FOR THE MAXIMUM PROVISION OF ECOLOGICAL SERVICE, HISTORIC, AND CULTURAL VALUE OF THE TREES ON THE SITE

THE ORDINANCE APPLIES TO BOTH PRIVATE PROPERTY DEVELOPMENT AND PROJECTS IN RIGHT OF WAY OR ON PUBLIC PROPERTY
