Presentation transcript:

Communication Networks  It shows the routes that allows different parties to communicate a message.  Centralized networks of communication involve a key player that holds decision making power  Wheel Network uses an experienced person or team leader at the centre. The person in the centre is going to have the control  Page 241. figure 2.3

Chain network  The chain network structure is used by organizations with a tall hierarchy. Ex. Mc Donalds. It uses a system to pass on information from regional managers to area managers and then finally to branch managers  The main disavantage is that there can be distorsions of the original message if the chain is very long  Figure 2.3 d. Chain network

Y chain network  It is similar to the chain method except that the information is passed onto several different parties. Ex. In a school, the principal may pass on information to her primary, secundary director etc.  Page 241. Figre 2.3e

Decentralized networks  Advantage. People may feel well because they contribute in the decision making  Circle network, Managers or groups of people communicate each other. Disadvantage. There is not leader and the strategies can be longer  Page 242  All channel network, also called web network, ex. Rainstorm in a meeting

Leadership styles  Autocratic. An autocratic leader or manager is one that makes all the decisions and prefers not to delegate any responsability to their subordinates  Democratic. A democratic leader is one who prefers to discuss with and involve employees in decision making  Laissez faire. A laissez faire leader or manager is one who prefers to have minimal direct input into the work of the employees.  They live the subordinates to make their own decisions
