The History and How the Computer was Built Charles Babbage started working on the Difference Machine. The Difference Machine only did math. The Difference Machine was never finished because of funding. The Science London Museum finished the Difference Machine for Charles Babbage. In 1837 Charles Babbage invented Analytical Engine. The Analytical Engine had a Local Control, Basic Flow Control, and a Integrated Memory. The Analytical Engine was also not finished because of funding.
