Visible  It can be seen from august through February  The three brightest stars are Alpheratz with a magnitude of 2.06, Mirach with a magnitude of 2.10, Almach  It only has three stars with a magnitude less than 3

Mythology  Andromeda is a woman born from King Cepheus and Queen Cassiopeia. She was chained to rocks on the sea line waiting to be eaten by cetus, a massive sea monster. She was sent there because of her mother bragging about her beauty. Right at the last moment as she was about to be eaten by the monster, Perseus arrived with the head of medusa and turned cetus to stone.
