 WS – My own Initiative = on my ownself  WS – Authority = “exosia” power to act, domain, jurisdiction A. Jesus had the Freedom of Individuality

“Now when all the people were baptized, Jesus was also baptized, and while He was praying, heaven was opened, 22 and the Holy Spirit descended upon Him in bodily form like a dove, and a voice came out of heaven, ‘You are My beloved Son, in You I am well-pleased.’" Luke 3:21 & 22 B. Jesus was Led by the Spirit

“Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led around by the Spirit in the wilderness ” Luke 4:1 Luke 4:1 B. Jesus was Led by the Spirit

 WS = Full – “pleres” – to fill, as of a hollow vessel;  WS = Led – “ago” - to lead, bring or carry; - a term used of Navigators – B. Jesus was Led by the Spirit

“And the disciples were continually filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.” Acts 13:52 Acts 13:52 “For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.” Rom. 8:14 Rom. 8:14 B. Jesus was Led by the Spirit

Luke 4:13 “When the devil had finished every temptation, he left Him until an opportune time. 14 And Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about Him spread through all the surrounding district.” C. Jesus Relied on God’s Power

“And amazement came upon them all, and they began talking with one another saying, "What is this message? For with authority and power He commands the unclean spirits and they come out!” Luke 4:36 C. Jesus Relied on God’s Power

“One day He was teaching; and there were some Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting there, who had come from every village of Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem; and the power of the Lord was present for Him to perform healing.” Luke 5:17 C. Jesus Relied on God’s Power

“So they removed the stone. Then Jesus raised His eyes, and said, "Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. 42 "I knew that You always hear Me; but because of the people standing around I said it, so that they may believe that You sent Me." 43 When He had said these things, He cried out with a loud voice, "Lazarus, come forth." Mark 5: “…Immediately Jesus, perceiving in Himself that the power proceeding from Him had gone forth, turned around in the crowd and said, "Who touched My garments?..." C. Jesus Relied on God’s Power

1 Thessalonians 1:5 “for our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction; just as you know what kind of men we proved to be among you for your sake.” C. Jesus Relied on God’s Power

“For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.” 2 Timothy 1:7 C. Jesus Relied on God’s Power

“Therefore Jesus answered and was saying to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner.” John 5:19 D. Jesus was Obedient to the Father

"I can do nothing on My own initiative. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is just, because I do not seek My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.” John 5:30 John 5:30 D. Jesus was Obedient to the Father

"For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.” John 6:38 John 6:38 D. Jesus was Obedient to the Father

John 8:28 “So Jesus said, "When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and I do nothing on My own initiative, but I speak these things as the Father taught Me. 29 And He who sent Me is with Me; He has not left Me alone, for I always do the things that are pleasing to Him." D. Jesus was Obedient to the Father

John 14:10 "Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on My own initiative, but the Father abiding in Me does His works.” D. Jesus was Obedient to the Father

“but so that the world may know that I love the Father, I do exactly as the Father commanded Me. Get up, let us go from here.” John 14:31 John 14:31 D. Jesus was Obedient to the Father

Jesus followed God’s movement in everything… Friends that is what I want to be… an Echo & a Shadow of my Father. Jesus was willing to be an Echo & a Shadow of the Father
