Matt. 7:21-29  21 Not every one that saith unto me,  Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven;  but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.  22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord,  have we not prophesied in thy name?  and in thy name have cast out devils? and in  thy name done many wonderful works?

 24 Therefore whosoever heareth these  sayings of mine, and doeth them,  I will liken him unto a wise man,  which built his house upon a rock:  25 And the rain descended, and the floods came,  and the winds blew, and beat upon that house;  and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

 26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine,  and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man,  which built his house upon the sand:  27 And the rain descended, and the floods came,  and the winds blew, and beat upon that house;  and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

 28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had  ended these sayings, the people were  astonished at his doctrine:  29 For he taught them as one having  authority, and not as the scribes.

Why call ye me Lord, Lord, and do not the things that I say? Luke 6:46

“Lord, Lord”  ‘To repeat a person’s name is a  Hebrew expression of intimacy!

 1. At Mount Moriah, when Abraham is about to plunge  A knife into the breast of Isaac, God says “Abraham, Abraham” Gen.22:10  2. When God encouraged Jacob in his old age to  Take the trip to Egypt, he says, “ Jacob, Jacob” Gen.46:2  3. When God called Moses from the burning bush,  He said “Moses, Moses”  4. When God called to Samuel in the night, he said  Samuel, Samuel I Sam.3:10

 5. When David’s son, Absalom was slained,  David cried, O Absalom,my son, my son” 2Sam.18:33  6. Why call ye me “Lord, Lord” Luke 6:46 Jesus: Why do you act like we are close, why do you pretend to have This great relationship with me, and then do not do what I say?”

Jesus said God loves to be worshipped: Why don’t you do it? :Jno.4:23,24  Heb.10:25  Acts 20:7

Do unto others, as ye would have them do unto you…Matt. 7:12  Are we? Do we?

Be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only! Jas. 1:22  1. Things that need to be done:  a) Taking food to the bereaved. Who will do it?  b) Visiting the sick…to assist them? Who will do it?  c) Visitation: Funeral: Grave side service?  Do you want folks to come and encourage you? Why don’t you?

Bear Ye One another’s burdens …Gal. 6:2  Most of us want others to bear our burdens!

Be faithful…24/7 I Cor. 15:58

Admit when you are wrong and make it right!  James 5:16  I John 1:9  Ill. Simon. Acts 8:22

Be Baptized while you can!  Acts 22:16  Acts 18:8

Be Restored! Don’t put it off!  Matt.11:28-30  Rev. 2:10

Why Call Me “Lord, Lord”… Luke 6:46  God help us to call Him Lord, Lord…  And show by our deeds that we  Are that close to Jesus!
