ELAGSE7RL10: By the end of the year, read and comprehend literature, including stories, dramas, and poems, in the grades 6-8 text complexity band proficiency, with scaffolding as needed at the high end of the range. EQ: How does Jonas react to certain memories? How does he change as a result?

Hook: Parts of Speech Watch: Adverbs video

Mini-Lesson Using the foldable we made… Define adverb. Adverb – modifies a verb, adjective, or another adverb. Often ends in – ly. Locate 3 examples of adverbs used in Chapter 15. Write them down in your foldable.

Work Session- The Giver by Lois Lowry 1.Read Chapter 18, pgs Work on reading check questions while you read. 3. After reading: Make a list of memorable dialogue from your reading of Chapter 18 (try for five pieces of memorable dialogue). Be sure to place quotation marks around what the characters said and also indicate who is speaking.
