Avaya Communicator for Web Demo Installation
Prerequisites IP Office 9.1 FP (9.1.2) or later SW release, running in demo mode (or with appropriate licensing) Chrome browser & Internet access Google account CA certificate used by IP Office correctly installed Check this by accessing Web Management: Green indication means certificate has been installed correctly
Enable SIP registrar From IP Office Manager, enable the SIP registrar Primary Server System LAN1 VoIP
Activate WebRTC gateway From Web Management, select „Platform View“ From Platform View -> System – Services, set WebRTC Gateway to start automatically, and start the service Select Platform View Start WebRTC service Select Start Automatically
Set XMPP domain From Web Management, go to Applications -> one-X Portal In Configuration -> IM/Presence, set the XMPP domain. For demo purposes, this can be the IP address. Restart the one-X Portal service (from Platform View – System Services) to activate the changes
Add user for Avaya Communicator for Web From Web Management -> Call Management, add a user with a Power Use Profile note: you do not need to create an H.323 or SIP extension for this user, if you only use WebRTC softphone mode
Add XMPP group From Web Management -> Call Managament -> Groups, create an XMPP group with all the users you want to communicate with using presence/IM
Download the client from the Chrome Web Store From the Chrome web store, search for „Avaya“ in Extensions. Add Avaya Communicator for Web to Chrome
Sign in to the client Use your Google account for authentication Use the IP Office User credentials for logging in Primary Server IP address IP Office user name@domain (=ip address by default) IP Office user password
Select client mode Click on the „Available“ status icon to select softphone mode: The application can be used to control a deskphone or act as a softphone
