Committee Roles As a committee you are responsible for co-ordinating and overseeing the day to day running of your Club or Society. This includes making decisions, organising activities, ensuring that you function within Union guidelines as well as planning to ensure you meet your aims & objectives and enable your activity to continue its success in years to come. Committee Responsibilities The role & responsibilities that you take on within your committee will depend on how you want to work together as a group. Committee roles are a general guideline to what each person should be doing, however in reality some of the responsibilities increase, overlap or are not relevant at all. It is however recommended that as a committee you agree your roles & responsibilities prior to embarking on your term in office together.

Volunteering with your Club / Society Everything you do for your group as a committee member counts as volunteering and looks great on your CV The Union will accredit your volunteering so you can get certificates to show your dedication Certificates range from 1 hour to 100+ hours Register with inVOLved and start logging your hours – it’s easiest to do this on a monthly basis so you can remember what you’ve done! Registration forms are in your packs and at the front of the room – fill them in and hand them in to get started! What counts: organising events running the events attending meetings on behalf of your group dealing with the group’s finances updating websites and contacting students/members driving your group to venues attending courses What doesn’t count: socials – sorry! getting a qualification taking the mickey!
