Introduction! loads of interesting facts about it also it I chose the Mississippi because there are loads of interesting facts about it also it looks amazing from above!

Information! The Mississippi is a river in America. The Mississippi was first discovered by Hernando de Soto in 1541.He was a Spanish explorer who led the first European expedition across America. The River starts in North America in the state of Minnesota and runs through Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi and Louisiana. The Mississippi ends its journey at the Gulf of Mexico. The length of the Mississippi river is approximately 2320 miles 3730 km!

Facts The Mississippi is The 3rd largest River in North America. At its headwaters the Mississippi is less than 3 feet deep and at its widest point the river is 7 miles wide! The name Mississippi comes from the Anishinabe- Ojibwe-pronounced- o-jib-we- Indians. Its name means ‘Father Of Waters ‘. The river incorporates tributaries rivers from 32 states & 2 Canadian provinces. A rain drop falling into the start of the river will take 90 days to reach the Gulf of Mexico(THE END) Mississippi was hit by a hurricane in 1875 killing hundreds, mostly in Harrison County. Water skiing was invented in 1922 on the Mississippi River in a wide part of the river known as Lake Pepin, between Wisconsin and Minnesota.

Animals The Mississippi river is home to ; 270 species of fish 25 species of mussels and 8,000,000 ducks and geese. 60% of all north American birds (326 species) use the river to migrate.
