Žilina Location... The Bratislava region is the smallest region in Slovakia. It occupies the western part of Slovakia and is defined by the Danube River and Zahorie Lowlands that are separated by the Male Karpaty range of mountains. The Danube forms the southern border and the Morava River on the western edge.

Žilina Basic information The region of Bratislava is an important crossroad of Central Europe. It shares borders with the Czech Republic, Austria, and Hungary. It has a common border with the Region of Trnava.

Žilina Economy Industry in the region includes all major sectors. Compared with other regions in Slovakia, these sectors are densely concentrated in Bratislava. Seventy percent of industrial employees of the region work in Bratislava. The south of the region specialises in industries that are agriculturally related. The main industrial sectors:  chemical  automitive  machinery  elktro-technical  food

Žilina Generation of GDP Bratislava region provides a 23.61% share of the total GDP; in monetary value that represents 209,452 million The financial and insurance account for 22.9% of that share. This is the highest contribution to the generated GDP. In Slovakia, the total share of those sectors as a percentage of GDP is 16.4%
