Let me tell you about my family. My great grandparents came from Eastern Europe. My mother’s grandparents left from Eastern Europe(Russia, Poland and Lithuania) to Detroit Michigan. My dad’s grandparents left Eastern Europe (Russia and Austria) and traveled to La Plata, Argentina. My dad’s grandparents traveled by ship. My mothers grandparents traveled by ship too.

This is the Argentinean flag. Under the Argentinean flag is the American.

I will tell you why my great grandparents moved to Argentina and Michigan. At the time in Eastern Europe it was the early 20 th century there was discrimination against all of the Jewish people that lived there. They could not practice their religion. And they were also persecuted.

In Argentina at that time there were a lot of opportunities. There was freedom of religion and many jobs were available. In Detroit the automotive industry was attracting many people because the plants needed a lot of workers to make cars.

My great grandparents in Argentina had owned a furniture store they made a decent living. My American great grand father was tinsmith he sold and repaired metal and tin objects he made a decent living too.

My family from Argentina: My family from Detroit:
