Vaughn Anastos Class News Dear parents, Can you believe there are less than 6 weeks left this school year! I just wanted to send out some information that may be helpful in the coming weeks as we draw near to the end of school. As always, let me know if you have any questions! Thanks, Mrs. Vaughn and Mrs. Anastos 5 th grade Appreciation – June 5th 5 th grade Graduation and Appreciation is going to be spectacular this year! As details become available, we will send s to keep you aware of this event. Please contact Bea Cedillo, front office secretary, if you would like to help with this event ( ). Homework Regularly assigned homework has been replaced with completing portions of class projects assigned in class. Students may have additional homework if they have not finished work or are behind in class. Calendar We have created a calendar of events for the students to use to keep track of assignments and activities this month. I have attached a copy for you as well to keep handy at home so you are informed of upcoming events. Please let me know if you have any questions. TOP Secret! Baby picture needed! We are making a fun end of year game for the kids and I need your help! If you could or send a picture with your student as a baby, I will scan it and return it back to you ASAP! The students should NOT share the picture with their classmates, as this would give away the game. May 10 th -- 5 th grade GT Presentation Day -- Parents are welcome to sign in at the front office and visit the Vaughn/Anastos GT projects. Further details about time will be sent at a later date.

Contact Information Mrs. Vaughn (cell) (school) Behavior With the end of school and summer quickly approaching, students are becoming more ‘active.’ Here at school, we will do everything we can to keep the students academically active and challenged to keep behavior issues at a minimum. We may switch student groupings, activities, or schedules as well as reward appropriate student behavior to encourage good choices through the end of the school year. However, if behavior issues occur, students will have consequences that may include behavior essays and/or shortened privilege activity time. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns, and we will do the same. Thank you for your support! In Class Projects The last several weeks of school, students will work to complete various projects in class. The due dates are indicated on the calendar, and most all of the work will be completed in class. From time to time, the group may need to work on the project outside of class in order to complete the project on time. This will be up to the students to determine their pacing in order to get the work done in time. Student Work/Grades Students have and will continue to work on a variety of assignments, including group work/projects, PowerPoint presentations, and other technology assignments rather than the traditional worksheet/paper-pencil activities. Therefore, I do not have many papers to send home. If you would like a digital copy of the work, please let me know, and I will have your student you. Thanks! Mrs. Anastos (cell) (school)
