About Me Custom Assignment for 3 rd -5 th Graders

Objective: Write informative/explanatory texts to examine a topic and convey ideas and information clearly.

Topic: Write a 1 paragraph essay to your teachers to introduce yourself.

Writing Checklist:  Present a clear and central idea about the topic.  Develop the central idea with specific details.  Sustain focus on the central idea.  Have a clear introduction, body, and conclusion.  Provide smooth progression of ideas.  Show strong command of grammar, capitalization, punctuation, and spelling.

What is your favorite:  Book  Subject in School  Food  Color  Movie When is your birthday? Do you play any sports? Tell an interesting or funny fact about yourself! How do you learn best?

Don’t Forget… We would love to see your smiling face. Attach a picture of yourself to the bottom of your paragraph. Be careful to keep it all on 1 page.

Turning in Your Assignment: Scan your handwritten final draft and insert a picture. (Remember, 1 page only) Save your assignment as a PDF. Use File Share from your student account to send to your homeroom teacher and me, Mrs. Ringus. Directions attached. Assignment is due Friday by 4:00 p.m.
