The Ocean By: Maddy Dorfman, Emily Martorelli, Alex Wilbur, and Emily Turner

Animals Some animals in the bottom layer of the ocean: Clams and mussels Shrimp Crabs Bacteria Tubeworms and giant tubeworms Fish (anthis, angel fish, ect) Giant squid Sharks (Lemon, Sand Tiger, ect) Whales (Beluga, Blue, ect) Seals (Elephant, Gray, ect) Octopus Jellyfish

Animals Some animals in the top layer of the ocean: Plankton Fish (Atlantic salmon, etc) Sharks (basking, Skate Eel Whale (nothern bottle-nosed, Gray, etc) Jellyfish Shrimp Sea Stars

Humans impact on the ocean Us humans have heavily affected the oceans by 40% by polluting the oceans with bottles, oil spills, over fishing, dumping waste, and altering ocean ecosystems beyond their natural state. We are decreasing important species in the ocean. We can try to prevent these problems by recycling and being a lot more conscience with what we actually do to the ocean. Help save us

Geological features of the ocean floor The deepest parts of the oceans come from the continental slopes that lead out from the continental shelves. Plains, long ocean ridges known as mountain ranges, isolated mountains called seamounts, and ocean trenches, which are the deepest parts of the oceans are all contained in the abyss. There are underwater mountains called seamounts which could also be called guyots. Extinct volcanoes even rise up to the surface which creates islands.

Commercial value in the ocean We get money from fishing, crabs, lobsters, etc. Going to the beach Scuba diving (resort attractions)

A Map of the Oceans on Earth

Photosynthetic organisms The photosynthetic organisms in the ocean are phytoplankton, and photosynthetic bacteria (less than half on earth)
