Julius Caesar was a Roman general, politician, and later dictator.

Caesar is elected consul and forms a triumvirate of power with Pompey and Crassus.

Caesar invades Britain and later conquers Gaul (France).

Crassus dies, leaving Pompey and Caesar as a duo.

The senate, led by Pompey, orders Caesar to disband his army and return to Rome.

Caesar refuses to lay down, and he instead invades Rome, causing civil war.

Caesar pushes Pompey out of Rome and into Egypt. He is later assassinated.

Caesar is declared dictator for life. Because of this, some senators begin discussing how to get rid of Caesar as a leader.
