In what ways did the French Revolution attempt to create an enlightened civilization? What impact did the tumult of Revolution have upon France, Europe, and Western Civilization?

 What economic and political realities did the global economy create by the 18 th century?  What impact did the mid 18 th century wars have upon the European powers and their colonies?  American Revolution  What were the causes of the American Revolution?  What was the revolution’s significance for the era?

 What was the political system and social structure of France in the “Ancien Regime” (period before the Revolution)?  How did crisis turn to revolution?

 Working with a partner create a pictorial timeline of the major events of the French Revolution:  Meeting of Estates General & Tennis Court Oath  Fall of the Bastille  Declaration of the Rights of Man  Women’s March on Versailles  Flight to Varennes  War with Austria/Prussia  Reign of Terror  Each event should have a picture, brief description of event, and a brief explanation of how it shaped the course of revolution.  When finished you will place in the drop folder on the shared drive (save your initial copies to your student folder)
